　　Decision 14/7 Striking at Tree Branch to Move Ball Lodged Higher in Branch
　　Q: A players ball is lodged in a tree branch beyond the reach of a club. The player swings at a lower part of the branch with a club for the purpose of dislodging the ball, and the ball falls to the ground. Has the player made a stroke?

　　A: No, because the player did not strike at the ball -- see Definition of "Stroke." The player incurred a one-stroke penalty under Rule 18-2a (Ball at Rest Moved by Player) and must replace the ball.

　　Since the spot where the ball lay is unreachable and the ball therefore cannot be replaced, the player must proceed under the unplayable ball Rule, incurring an additional penalty stroke — see Decisions 18-1/9 and 18-2a/29.

　　判定 14/7 击打树枝使停在树枝高处的球移动

　　问：一名球员的球停在了一个树枝上，他的球杆够不到。这名球员为了把球撞下来，用球杆击打树枝低的部分。球落到了地上。算这名球员打了一杆吗？

　　答：不算，因为球员没有击打球——见“击球”的定义。按照规则18-2a（静止的球被球员移动），这名球员要被罚1杆，而且必须把球放回原处。

　　因为球原来的位置不能达到，因此球不能被放回原处。这名球员必须按照不可打的球的规则处置，还要另外被罚1杆——见判定18-1/9和18-2a/29。
